South of Nowhere RECAP/REVIEW: 1x05

Last time, Spencer went on a date with a girl. It didn't go so well. Glen and Aiden made up. Spencer's mother probably suspects her daughter's curiosity of the female body and she hates it.

The good:

  • Clay and the one cute girl are talking again. I'm rooting for them, honestly. Which means that this will end up horrible and somehow this girl will end up murdering him or something else ridiculous. Because that's just my luck with fictional couples.
  • Spencer standing her ground and telling her brother (the fuckboy one) not to download porn on her computer.
  • Ashley's "That's why I love you." AWWWWW. I'm into them now. Please hook up immediately, Spencer and Ashley. Kiss and touch hands.
  • Clay actually treating cute girl with respect even though everyone is being a complete ass about it. I'm glad Clay has his shit together.
  • Clay and that artsy cute girl kissing. HELL YEA!

The bad:

  • Glen giving Clay dating advice. Stawp.
  • Glen opening up that file on Spencer's computer and seeing Ashley's nudes.
  • Basically, Glen.
  • Ashley's camera skills. I'm... ashamed. She's too good to be that bad at camera work.
  • Poor Ashley. Some fuckboy (Glen) sent her nudes everywhere. I'm sad. I like Ashley too much.
  • Glen acting like Clay never having sex before is a bad thing. If Clay wants to wait, he can! Fuck you, Glen! I hope Clay just accidentally takes him to a place far away and drops him off like Bree did to Andrew. Just for a few hours, I swear!
  • I'm upset at Shawn's confession on how he lost his virginity when he says the girl he lost his virginity to got shot 2 summers ago and died. It was very emotional.
  • Artsy girl finding condoms in Clay's pocket and getting upset. Guess who put the condoms there? Glen. I'm glad that this problem was solved, because Clay explains he's a virgin because he hasn't met anyone special enough yet and Artsy girl thinks that's so great and kissed him.

The WTF?:

  • How did Clay get that girl's number?
  • Madison and Ashley being friends. Why didn't they mention this sooner? Was that Madison's tragic past? Really?

The 2005:

  • Clay texting that one girl while she's standing by her locker to ask her out. She totally knows it's him and smiles. Like, can we just spell out 2005 Couple of the Year more with this scene? Soooo 2005. It's like we get texting and we're so amazed that we don't take the opportunity to go help the girl out with her books! Then again, Clay would be that guy that would probably drop your books on accident or something.
  • Also, the IM convo between Spencer and Aiden
All in all, I think that this was a pretty good episode. It's about losing your virginity. I think a few of the clips where the characters talk about losing their virginities are pretty emotional. Ashley's, Spencer's, and Shawn's especially.
